I stopped at the place in my life when I became a librarian. I knew right away that this was my profession. Time passed and soon I found myself in a college library. I needed a master's degree to be a full fledged college librarian. I attended school in the evenings, driving one hundred miles each way, and lived on campus summer sessions to receive that hard earned graduate degree. I still had not begun to write. I spent my days with books but there didn't seem to be time to give to writlng.
Years went by and soon I was retired. I would definitely start that book tomorrow. Then one day something traumatic happened........I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease., I knew something of the disease since I had an Uncle who had been afflicted with this neurological condition What I didn't know I soon learned quickly. One of my most annoying symptoms was not being able to sleep,.I decided to spend those sleepless hours writing. That was more than seven years ago and I'm still writing see--www.nanturner.org and darlene eichler--writer. When I'm tempted to skip writing for that day, I remember what advise a co-worker and writer gave me.-----write something everyday even if you never use it. It might give you new ideas and encourage you to rewrite old ones. If you write everyday you will soon feel that you cannot go a day without writing, or that's the way I feel.
So, just write-----everyday. It will become a habit.
